SongwriterLink ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored hashed). When you pay for membership, Stripe processes your payment details — we receive only a payment confirmation and a billing reference. We do not store card details.
When you publish a lyric, we store the lyric text, title, genre, moods, and any writer's note you provide. We also record the date of publication.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not share your information with third parties except as described above (Stripe for payments, Copyscape for originality checks).
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and a CSRF cookie to protect forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We retain your account and lyric data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will anonymise or delete your personal data within 30 days on request. Published lyrics may be retained in anonymised form for archival purposes unless you request full deletion.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict its processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.
For any privacy-related questions, email privacy@songwriterlink.com or use our contact form.
