as far as what I hope to create through this site, I am into inventive, layered, acoustic or semi-acoustic musical arrangements a la fionn regan, anathallo, joanna newsom, andy shauf, elliott smith, etc. other interests include twangy alt-country rock (blitzen trapper) as well as bluegrass, newgrass and trad. professionally, I play old-time american music for dances, mostly midwestern but a little cape breton, irish, appalachian, scottish, etc. I play fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, piano, drums, and dabble in a couple of wind instruments. I have friends who play brass and woodwinds who I could recruit for arranging purposes. I haven't paid much attention to the state of indie music over the last few years. I'm currently making my way through pitchfork reviews of the last few years to catch up on the haps. as far as personal attributes go, I have a love of the woods and wild places, which I believe have influenced my musical predilections on a semi-conscious level. live in a small town in western illinois, and I'm moving to a city somewhere in the northern midwest soon. I have two lovely children, Juniper and Emrys. I'm 22.
