I am a composer in Los Angeles who is hoping to find a lyricist who aspires to write the same kind of songs I write. I write what I consider to be romantic music, love songs/ballads, pop/opera with a strong emphasis on melody, much along the lines of David Foster-type music . Admittedly, there is a smaller market for those kinds of songs these days, but I still feel strongly that there is STILL a place for a beautiful well-written song with the right artist (Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Lara Fabian, Pia Toscano, David Emmett, Loren Allred, Lucy Thomas (UK), Jackie Evancho, etc.) OR for use in a Film/TV setting. Additionally, I have had an longtime affinity for the Euro Pop scene (with an emphasis on French Pop), and I have been influenced by the music of Michel Legrand, Francis Lai, Paul Mauriat, Gilbert Becaud, and others over the years. In addition to English lyrics, some of the music I write would be quite suitable for a French or Italian lyric to be sung by a Europop artist. Also, you might describe some of the music I write as quasi-Broadway, and I think the current songwriting team of Pasek & Paul (the two songwriters who wrote the songs for The Greatest Showman and the lyrics to La-La Land) are writing the kinds of songs that I definitely want to write.
