I've been writing songs for decades. I believe I'm a fairly good lyricist and a very mediocre guitar player. Songs come to me like an avalanche. The melody and words come out at the same time. Quickly. I have many partially written songs I would like to complete. Harry Chapin is my all-time favourite writer but I love artists like Jez Lowe, John Prine, and Tom Waits. I love great stories and great lyrics that have a great turn of phrase. I get a lot of inspiration from the beginnings of country songs.
