I am originally from Turkey, lived for 5 years in the US, currently residing in Athens, Greece. First song I remember listening was Back to the U.S.S.R, by the Beatles. Just 5 minutes ago finished listening Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Mustt Mustt. In between was filled with Jazz, Classical and World Music played by my mother in the house as I grew up; Metallica and Megadeth and then Nirvana that I listened with dirty-haired-gloomy-looking metalhead and rocker friends throughout high-school; Brel and French chanson when I wear my ascot and have a crooked look on my face; all kinds of Blues from Blind Willie to SRV when I drink; and several different genres of world music, especially Classical Ottoman modal music, Greek Rebetiko and Turkish folk. I played in bands in the past and collaborated with musician friends regularly, however that situation changed after I moved to Athens, and I hope to find collaborators here at SongwriterLink...
