About
British composer, Peter Holt is a passionate musician whose claim to fame is the UK’s youngest artist to cut a vinyl album, which he did at just 12 years of age with Grosvenor Records. He began music lessons aged 6 and he studied classical piano, music theory and jazz organ at Leeds College of Music at 11. He went on to win Organist of the Year competitions in both the UK and USA aged 16. He studied under Nicholas Haines, inventor of the Haines Music Laboratory and musician Nigel Ogden who has been a weekly BBC Radio 2 presenter for the last 35 years. Peter began his career as a demonstrator for Hammond organs and pianos and has toured the UK, Europe and USA performing solo concerts on almost every type of keyboard instrument, both classical and contemporary. Peter has played in concert at many prestigious venues such as Manchester’s Free Trade Hall which was broadcast live on BBC Radio 2. He’s even played live on Blackpool Tower’s Wurlitzer – home of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing finals. So far, Peter has now performed around 2,500 concerts all over the world. Today, Peter is a full-time composer/songwriter.
