Gary began his professional musical career at 16, attended New Mexico State University, joined the American Corporation of Artists booking agency in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and for years, toured throughout the Midwest states. Settling in Nashville, Tennessee he continued singing, recording, and writing for the next 30 years. A BMI and NSAI lifetime member, songs written and co-written by Gary were published by a number of Nashville’s top publishers before he began writing exclusively for the Walter Haynes Music Company on Music Row. Gary released an album for Cookhouse Records in Minneapolis, and a number of singles on SoundWaves Records in Nashville that received accolades in both Billboard and Cashbox music magazines. Moving back to the Las Cruces area in 2005 he continued to write, co-write, perform, and compose numerous orchestrations, adult contemporary, country, folk, Christian, and Christmas songs. Gary Clute has an impressive portfolio of musical contributions. He created the score and songs for the short film "Face Full of Dollars," which was produced by Eric Seo and executive producer Mark Medoff. Additionally, he provided background orchestration and songs for seven hour-long documentaries directed by Ed Breeding. Recently, he composed musical compositions for the film "I Died Today" and the musical "Irene, Just Irene," in collaboration with writer/producer/director Greg LaVoi. Currently, Gary is working alongside Frank Verderame to compose music for multiple songs in "Our Man In Chocolate." He is also engaged in various collaborations with talented lyricists from around the world.
