I mostly play guitar, but also some banjo, bass guitar, dulcimer, and mandolin. I'm more into Americana, though that incudes country, bluegrass, and folk. I play and sing, and I have a home studio for recording. I have been writing some of my own songs for a while, but I am 100 percent amateur and have not tried to publish anything or sell any of my songs. My website is: www.mcmakinmusic.com Of the songs on this website, the ones I wrote are: Thief in the Night The Train Won't Run Galicia The Wall I use my home studio to record and I'm definitely still learning the ropes of that. As such, the recordings are only "fair" and some just honestly have bad mixing. You'll notice for instance in "The Wall" that my vocals are way too far out front in the mix. In "Thief in the Night" the bass and drums are too far back in the mix, so unless you have a great pair of speakers, they are hard to hear. Again, it's a skill I'm working on. I mostly play acoustic guitar and banjo, but I dab in bass guitar and mandolin, and a little bit of mountain dulcimer. I'd say my music tends to be somewhat "Americana" in nature, with some bluegrass and old time/folk music mixed in. I rarely play the electric guitar but do have a couple to play around with. I use EZ/Superior Drummer and have a few options in that regard. My biggest downfall (aside from my voice) is that I don't read music notation. I do read tablature and have a pretty good ear. I'm mostly here to hone my skill and have a good time.
