The greatest story ever told
Was prophesied in days of old
This revelation came to pass
Two thousand years ago
About a boy of humble birth
Was sent from God to save the Earth
From all the darkness and the sins
This world will ever know
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
Their eyes beheld an awesome sight
A star so bright with guiding light
From far away they came
To Bethlehem that Christmas morn
Where Heaven's promised child was born
To save us from this world and more
We praise His holy name
He grew into a fine young man
Well versed in Heavenly Father's plan
He taught the people in the land
The way their lives s hold be
He healed the sick and raised the dead
He washed their feet and broke the bread
With open arms He humbly said
To all come follow Me
With in the grove of olive trees
He prayed to God so fervently
In deep despair and agony
He bled from every pore
Betrayed by one for selfish greed
Denied by one who still believed
With guile and indignity
They crowned his head with thorns
They pierced His hands, His side and feet
His love for them would not retreat
His loving sacrifice complete
He opened Heaven's door
Upon the cross of Calvary
He gave his life unselfishly
He stands for all the world to see
That death will sting no more
The greatest story ever told
Was prophesied in days of old
This revelation came to pass
Two thousand years ago
