I have written lyrics for many years but have not collaborated with a musician before. I enjoy most types of music but find my musical influences to be mostly alternative/rock and pop. My initial introduction to writing lyrics was Bernie Taupin and his collaboration with Elton John. Later I discovered Michael Stipe, Frank Black, Jeff Mangum, Stephen Malkmus, etc. My writing style is often not a linear story approach but an attempt to capture or express imagery and emotion.
